Mike Acree

Jesse Michael “Mike” Acree, 70, of Gaston, died Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Vidant North Hospital.

Mike was born October 20, 1950 in Halifax County, to Jesse Willard Acree and Lois Mae Moseley Acree, both whom preceded him in death.   He has also predeceased by his sister, Nancy Acree Elrod.

Mike was a retired truck driver, and former owner / operator of J. Michael Acree Trucking.

He is survived by his children, Paul Acree of Gaston, Tracy Allen (Shane) of Roanoke Rapids, Greg Acree (Danielle) of Gaston; former wife, Linda Turner Acree; his grandchildren, Meagan and Reagan Acree, Breanna and Jacob Allen, Savannah Acree; his sisters, Linda Delbridge (Lee), Joyce LaMonica (Rick), Ashley Carico (Leslie); his brothers, Linwood Acree (Kathy), Lee Acree (Leslie); and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Saturday at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.   The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Lee Delbridge presiding.  Interment will be held in Cedarwood Cemetery.
