Micheal Forte Edwards

Micheal Dean Forte Edwards, 68, passed away on November 24, 2025. Mrs. Edwards was born on July 7, 1957 in Roanoke Rapids, the daughter of the late Mary Dean Hurst and Joseph Michael Forte. She was also preceded in death by her siblings Eddie Forte, Brenda Shaw, and Peyton Parham.

Surviving include her husband James L. Edwards, her bonus children Brittany Nielson (Devin) and Jenna Edwards; her brother David Forte (Tammy); her sister Tina Powell (Robert); her grandchildren: Cadence Galloway, Madilyn Galloway, Alaina Nielson, Bailey Garza, and Peyton Noah; her nieces and nephews: Calvin Forte (Joy), Mike Forte (Jennifer), Jeffrey Shaw, Jennifer Harris (Garrett), Heidi Bishop (Chris), Lee Powell (Amanda), Joshua Powell (Ashley), Cody Forte (Heather), and Suzanne Bell; and several great nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Mrs. Edwards’ life will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, November 29 at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service with Pastor Nancy Palmer officiating. A Private Burial will take place another day at Hawkins Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 2:00 PM and at other times at the home of Tina and Robert Powell.
