Michael Lynn West

Michael Lynn West, 56, of Roanoke Rapids, died Sunday, September 25, 2011, at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

Mr. West was a loving husband, father, Papa, brother and friend. He worked at Davis Body Shop for over 20 years and was a member of Central Baptist Church.

He was born November 3, 1954, to the late Joe Irvin West and Bessie Aycock West. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Joyce W. Nowell.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Fowler West; his son, Marc Shaw and his wife, Brandy, and his daughter, Michelle West; his brothers: Joe West and wife, Gail; Samuel Sambo West and wife, Brenda; Donald Donnie West; his sisters: Linda OBriant and husband, Thad; Sheila Kay Ross and special friend, Freddie Floyd, all of Roanoke Rapids, and Patricia Collins and husband, Elliott, of Emporia; his grandson: Aaron Pee Wee Shaw; and lots of special nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 27, from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service which is handling the arrangements, and other times at his home..

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 28, at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home chapel conducted by Preacher Maurice Wheat. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery..
