Michael Patrick Rowland

Michael Patrick Rowland, 69, of Roanoke Rapids passed away Friday, June 14, 2019 at Duke University Hospital in Durham.

Michael was born May 10, 1950 in Halifax County to the late John K. Rowland, Jr and Nishia Dickens Rowland. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, John K. Rowland, III and Norman “Daryl” Rowland.

Michael loved his family and consider all of his friends to be family. He loved his faithful companion/sidekick Charlie. He also was an avid fisherman and camper.

Michael is survived by his daughter, McKayla Rowland of Roanoke Rapids and her mother, Cindy Burke; his sisters, Alice Chichester of Goldsboro, Kathy Freeman of Roanoke Rapids, and Cindy Rowland of Littleton; his grandson, Zayden Vinson; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 29, 2019 at the Weldon Boat Ramp.
