Michael Lynn King, Jr., 43, died Sunday, October 9, 2016 in Vidant Hospice in Greenville, NC.

Michael was born in Biloxi, MS, March 28, 1973, to Michael Lynn King, Sr. and Janice Edwards King. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William and Betty King and his maternal grandfather, Elijah Edwards.

Surviving is his wife, Christy Matthews King, of the home; his father and mother, Michael and Janice King of Halifax; sons, Ryan King and Joshua King; step-sons, James Matthews and wife, Katie and Dennis Kennedy and wife, Tammy; brothers, William Clemmons and Jason King and girlfriend, Jasmine Edenbeck; maternal grandmother, Shirley Edwards, all of Roanoke Rapids; grandchild, Madeline Kennedy. The family would like to extend a heart-felt thank you to Aunt Angel and Uncle David, Aunt Ann and Uncle Charlie, Uncle James King and friend, Tammy Alston.

Robbie McLaughin and Rev. Jimmy King will conduct a funeral service in the chapel at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service Thursday, October 13, 2016, at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery. The family will be accepting friends at the homes of Christy King, 819 Franklin St., Roanoke Rapids, NC and/or Michael and Janice King, 50 Trueblood Rd., Halifax, NC.
