Michael Dwayne King

Michael Dwayne King, 50, of Roanoke Rapids, died Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham.

Michael was born September 23, 1963 in Warren County to Mitchell King and the late Mabel Lynch King. Michael was a loving father and grandfather and a truly good friend. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Lottie Lynch; and a sister Beverly King.

Michael is survived by his daughter Mindy King of Roanoke Rapids; his father, Mitchell King of Littleton; his sisters, Denise (Jack) of Roanoke Rapids; and Debbie (Nancy) of Littleton; His uncle Clyde Lynch (Sally) also of Littleton. Two grandchildren, Adalyn Hudson, and Brooklyn Carroll. Michael is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Jesse King, Jennifer Boyd, Alex Boyd, Paige Munn, and Timothy Peterson, Jr.; and lots of special great nieces and nephews; and a longtime special friend Michelle Taylor.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 28, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service with Rev. Rick Gaskins, officiating. Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday, February 27, 2014 from 7:00-8:30 PM at the funeral home and all other times at the home..
