Melissa Kaye Yarboro Edwards, 43, passed away at Halifax Regional Health Center, Tuesday, March 4, 2014.

Melissa was born in Charleston, SC March 17, 1970 to Willie Laverne Yarboro, Sr. and Debra Kaye Matthews. She was loved by all and was a loving mother to her children. Melissa is preceded in death by her mother, Debra Kaye Matthews.

Surviving are her sons, Dustin Mark Mountford and Nick Edwards, both of Roanoke Rapids; her daughter, Emli Edwards of Clayton; father, Willie L. Yarboro, Sr. and wife, Patricia, of Littleton; brothers, Willie L. Yarboro, Jr., Brian Taylor, both of Roanoke Rapids, and Chris Taylor of Longview, TX; step-father, William Larry Thorne of Clayton; finance, Tim Moseley of Roanoke Rapids. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

The family will celebrate Melissas life Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Community Freewill Baptist Church at 2:00 pm officiated by Rev. Larry Matthews.. They will receive friends beginning at 1:00 pm, prior to service, at the church.

The family has requested that flowers be sent to Community Freewill Baptist Church, 1506 Washington Ave., Weldon, NC 27890.
