Mary O'Riley Rose

Mary O’Riley Rose, 85 of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Saturday March 14, 2026. She is preceded in death by her parents Pedro and Elvira Gonzales, her first husband Bruce M. Henry Sr., second husband Rufus S. Rose Jr., daughters Lindy R. Southerland, and Jenny L. Rose.

She is survived by her sons Bruce M Henry Jr., Brian J. Henry, Sandy E. Rose (Amy), daughters Cindy R. Green (Tommy Southerland), Penny R. Stokes (Stephen), Richard O’Riley (Reba), sisters Eva Rose, Eunice Mesa (Ruben), 17 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and her special k-9 friend “Lucy”

Mary was a loving mother, wife, grandmother and great grandmother, she enjoyed working in the yard with her flowers and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

There will be a funeral service on Saturday March 21, 2025, at 11:00am in the Hockaday Chapel, with Pastor David Gorgan presiding, with interment in the Jackson Cemetery afterwards. The family will receive friends and family on Friday March 20, 2026, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service.
