Mary Madeline Crawley, 94, of Wilson, formerly of Roanoke Rapids, died Monday, December 03, 2012 at Wilson Medical Center.

Madeline was born June 25, 1918 to the late Jesse Dudley Pittard and Grace Emma Green Pittard.

Madeline was a loving mother and ministers wife for many years. She lived to serve her Lord and family.

In addition to her parents Madeline was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Hyder Ferguson Crawley, three brothers Ambrose, Lorenzo, and Leo Pittard; and a sister Grace P. Inscoe.

Madeline is survived by her daughter Doris C. Hawkins of Wilson; son William Justis Crawley and wife Peggy of Charlotte; sister; Margaret Elizabeth Pittard Hawkins of Roanoke Rapids. Four grandchildren Robert E. Hawkins and wife Julie of Chesapeake, Va; Lois Carol Hawkins Wiley and husband Ray of Alexandria, Va.; Donna Crawley Melton and husband Robert; William Alan Crawley and wife Carmen all of Charlotte. Nine grandchildren Amber, Andy, Madi, Evan, Garrett, Anna Grace, Jacob, Bennett, and Avery.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Hawkins Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Sid Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Hawkins Chapel Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:30 prior to the service at the church.
