Margaret Pierce Cox

Margaret Pierce Cox, 89, died Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Pinewood Manor in Ahoskie.

Mrs. Cox was born in Halifax County June 29, 1924, to the late William Pierce and Icelene Pierce. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John D. Cox; a son, John D. Cox, II; son-in-law, Mike France, and granddaughter, Jennifer Andrews.

Surviving is her son, William N. Bill Cox and wife, Teresa, of Spring Grove, VA and two daughters, Paula France of Roanoke Rapids, and Margo Saunders, and husband, Chuck, of Jacksonville, FL.. Also surviving is five grandchildren, Mickey Doane, William N. Nash Cox, Tracey F. Brake, John P. Jody France, and John D. Denny Cox. III, and thirteen great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 13, 2013 in Cedarwood Cemetery at 2:00 pm. A visitation will be held prior to the graveside service beginning at 12:30-:1:30 pm at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service. Other times the family will meet at Mrs. Frances house at 2210 Bolling Rd., Roanoke Rapids.
