Margaret Spragins Alston, 47 of Hwy 158, Roanoke Rapids passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.

Margaret was born June 17, 1968 in Mecklenburg County, VA to Freddie Howard Ezell and Janet Edenbeck Madron.She was preceded in death by her father; her grandparents: Clara King Spragins and Leroy Atkins Spragins; and her Mother-in-law: Etta Mae Alston.

She was the best wife any man could ever have.She was a loving sister and daughter.She was a very caring and dedicated person.

Margaret is survived by her husband: Billy Alston of the home; her loving companion and baby: Scooter Root; her mother: Janet Madron of Roanoke Rapids; her step-son: Samuel Blake Alston; her brother: Freddie Ezell of Ahoskie; Her sisters: Tereasa Ezell and Stacey Ezell; her Father-in-law: Boo Alston; her sister-in-law: Norma Lyles and her husband Kevin all of Roanoke Rapids and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service with Pastor Annie Marie Smith officiating.Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 7:00 8:30 P.M. Friday, January 15, 2016 at the funeral home and other times at the home.
