Malinda Cooke Garner

Malinda Cooke Garner, 72, died Thursday, May 24, 2012 in Kindred Care of Scotland Neck.

Mrs. Garner was born, January 9, 1940 in Halifax County to the late Millard Overton Cooke and Margaret Nell Hall Cooke. She was a homemaker and the widow of John Robert Bobby Garner, Sr.

Surviving Mrs. Garner are her sons, Rocky Garner of Youngsville, and Steve Wallice Garner of Littleton, and a daughter-in-law, Christina Nichols Garner of Roanoke Rapids. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Scott Randy Garner, Jr., Stephanie Nicole Garner, Cassandra Lynn Garner, Nicholas Robert Garner, and Christopher Steve Garner, and great-grandchildren, Dylan Garner, Alexandra Scott Garner, Savanna and Jada Outland.

A graveside service will be conducted by Rev. Keith Thomason, Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 11:00 am, in the Massey Family Cemetery, Greensville County, VA. The family will be meeting at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service, Saturday morning at 10:00 am to leave in procession to the cemetery.
