Maggie Bass Turner

Maggie Bass Turner, 89, of Roanoke Rapids, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2025.

Ms. Turner was born on May 15, 1936, the daughter of the late Wayland David Bass and Lena Matthews Bass.  She was also preceded in death by her spouse, Presley Turner, her siblings Lilly Mae Paul, David Bass, Nita Spence and Herman Bass.

Maggie is survived by her brother James Bass (Barbara), her daughter Delores Jordan (Ronnie), her son Mike Turner (Aimee), her granddaughter Denisha Green, her grandson Tommy Turner (Renee), and her great grandsons:  Jaxson and Brody Green and many loving nieces and nephews.

Maggie was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and granny, she loved her family deeply.  She loved cooking, singing, dancing, westerns, especially “Cheyenne”.  She was a talented seamstress at New Carolina Industries in Weldon, NC.  She loved spending time with her family and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service with Pastor Mike Little officiating.  Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Cemetery.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 – 1:45 PM.  Friends may sign the online register by visiting www.hockadayfs.com .
