Luther E "Eddie" Wood

Luther E. Eddie Wood went to be with his beloved wife, the late Patrocinia G. Wood in eternal peace on Thursday, January 5, 2017.

He was the son of the late Russell E. Wood and Edna Earl Jones Wood.

He is survived by his sister, Rebecca W. Allen and her son, Edward H. Vincent.

Eddie joined the Air Force at the age of 17 and retired 29 years later as a Senior Master Sergeant.He was awarded three Meritorious Service Medals, three Air Force Commendations Medals and four Vietnam Service Medals.During his career he served this country in the Philippines, Laos, Thailand, Okinawa and Guam.He was also remembered for the study and later teaching the martial art known as Go-Tyu-Ryu karate. He rose to the rank of Go-Pan 5th Degree Black Belt.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday at Cedarwood Cemetery with Dave Chapman, Minister officiating.The family will receive friends from 9:30 10:30 Friday at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service..
