Lucille Manning Medlin Miles, 91, of Roanoke Rapids went to be with her Lord Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at her home.
Lucille was born September 5, 1933, in Franklin County to the late Cornelius Manning and Ophelia Ellis Manning. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Nivie G. Medlin and Charles Miles; her son, Dennis Medlin.
Her transition to eternal life with her Lord and Savior, reminds us of the enduring legacy she leaves behind. A legacy that will continue to inspire and uplift our family. As an extraordinary and loving Mother, a wonderful Grandmother, great Grandmother and mentor, she consistently offered guidance, encouragement, and invaluable life lessons. She was the cornerstone of our family's strength, whose unwavering dedication, selflessness, and wisdom have been a guiding force, empowering us to carry on her lessons and legacy. Her passion for God was contagious, and she generously shared His blessings with everyone around her. Various scriptures come to mind when describing her remarkable bond with Jesus, and we have every confidence that she's now basking in heaven's joy.
Lucille is survived by her children, Patricia Dixon (Donald), Cindy Wilson and David Medlin (Mark Walker); her grandchildren, Chris Gaster, Gaston E. Wilson and Kim Johnson (Chris); her great-grandchildren, Ashley Deaton (Wes), Taylor Alston (Caleb) and Nick Johnson; seven great great-grandchildren and a special friend Pastor Carie Tunie.
David relished the time he spent over the last nine years taking care of his mother daily and they became very close and their love only grew stronger.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Cedarwood Cemetery with Rev. Randy Martin officiating.
