Loyd Raymond "Bug" Edwards

Loyd Raymond Bug Edwards, 72, died Wednesday, February 20, 2013 in Hertford County.

Mr. Edwards was born August 18, 1940 in Halifax County to the late Loyd Virginia Edwards and Ruth Mae Morris Edwards. He was a spray painter in the electronics field and later in life delivered papers for the Daily Herald. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Jimmy, Jack and Fred Edwards, and his sister, Dorothy Franks.

Surviving is his wife, Ellen Williford Edwards of the home; son, Michael Perry Edwards of Nashville, Tennessee; daughter, Linda Rose Horton and husband, Jerry, of Pine Level, North Carolina and two sisters, Charlotte Johnson and Virginia Ivey, both of Roanoke Rapids. Also surviving are six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service Sunday, February 24, 2013 from 1:00-2:30 pm. Graveside services will follow at Crestview Memorial Cemetery beginning at 3:00pm, officiated by Rev. Norwood Starling.
