Lonnie "Bud" Moseley Jr

Lonnie (Bud) Moseley, Jr., age 67, died February 14, 2012 at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

Bud was born March 31, 1944, to the late Lonnie Elgin Moseley, Sr., and Minnie Crowder Moseley in Roanoke Rapids. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lorie Ann Moseley.

He will always be remembered for his lifelong love for the outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing and gardening throughout his life. Bud loved to work with his hands and being creative, whether in making his own fishing lures, reloading bullets or working on home projects and sharing this knowledge with his grandchildren. He had a great passion for music and loved to sing and play his guitar with friends and family. He retired as a Loom Fixer from the Bibb Company after 35 years of service.

His memory will forever be treasured by his wife of 49 years, Nancy Newsome Moseley, of the home; his daughter, Wendy Moseley Byrum and her husband Matthew of Garysburg; his daughter, Jackie Moseley Robinson and her husband Craig of Roanoke Rapids; his son, Lonnie (Buddy) Moseley, III, and his wife Candy of Roanoke Rapids; his grandchildren, Cory Byrum,Jared Byrum, Justin Robinson, Renee Moseley, and Keith Moseley.

He is also survived by his brother, Robert Moseley and his wife Doris, his sisters Mary Strickland and Barbara Spruill, all of Roanoke Rapids; his sister Nita Harrell and her husband Marvin of Jarratt, Virginia; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service on Friday, February 17, 2012, at 1:00 PM with Billy Meinsen, minister, officiating.Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, February 16, 2012, from7:00 to 8:30 PM and other times at the home, 1411 Macon Avenue..
