Lois Marie Henley Boyd

Lois Marie Henley Boyd, 89 formally of Gaston, North Carolina, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at ECU Medical Center on Saturday August 15, 2026. Lois was born on April 28, 1937, in Franklin County, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years Dexter A. Boyd Sr., parents Tommie and Lucy Henley, brothers Tommie Henley Jr., Charles R, Henley, sisters Dorothy Henley Lynch and Betty Henley Braswell.

She is survived by her son Dexter Allton Boyd Jr. (Minnie), daughter Tracy Lynn Boyd, granddaughter Tammy Renee Boyd Brackin (Adam), great-grandchildren Madelyn Ellen Brackin, Adam William Brackin Jr. and many nieces and nephews.

Lois was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, a member of First Baptist Church of Gaston where she served in many different capacities and she loved to cook.

The family will receive friends and family on Friday August 21, from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service and a memorial service will follow at 2:00pm in the Chapel with the Dr. Jullian R. Mills Sr. officiating. Family will receive visitors at various times at 113 Midway Lane Roanoke Rapids.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that you make a donation in memory of Lois to the First Baptist Church of Gaston 235 Roanoke Rapids Road Gaston, N.C. 27832.
