Lloyd Lee Johnston, 66, died at his residence Saturday, February 19, 2022.

Lee was a carpenter by trade and was born in Halifax County, North Carolina, son to the late James Russell and Nellie Reese Johnston. In addition to his parents, Lee was preceded in death by his brothers, Edgar, Joe, Freddie, Willie, George, Wayne and Wade, and his sister, Judy.

Surviving are his brothers, W.G., Wesley, Michael, and Eddie; sisters, Mary Wynn, Ella Lassiter, Ann Murphy, and Marie Bailey; stepdaughter, Nicole Edmondson and granddaughter, Brittany Matthews. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly and many dear friends.

The family will have a service in the chapel at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 1:00 pm and will receive friends, also at the funeral home, from 11:30am- 12:30 pm, prior to the service. Interment will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery, Roanoke Rapids.
