Lindsey Wayne Taylor

Lindsey Wayne Taylor, 57, of Kenly and formerly of Roanoke Rapids, died Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

He was born October 7, 1961 in Halifax County, the son of James Harold Taylor and Mattie Virginia Moore Taylor, both of whom preceded Lindsey in death.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; and a nephew, Anthony Taylor.

Lindsey was a correctional officer at Caledonia Prison prior to his retirement.  He loved animals and music, and enjoyed spending time using his computer.

Survivors include his wife, Latrell Davis Taylor; brothers, Charles A. Taylor and wife Wilma, Fred Taylor and wife Nancy; niece, Amanda Lynn and husband James; nephew, Erick Taylor; great-niece and great-nephew, Winter and Lil’ James; and special dogs, Poochie, Weenie and Tinker Bell.

Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 – 4:00 pm Sunday afternoon at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.   Per his request, Lindsey will be cremated and any other service will be private.
