Linda Campbell Hobbs

Linda Campbell Hobbs, 71, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2020 at Vidant North Hospital.

Born May 25, 1948 in Danville, VA, Linda was the daughter of Carol and Maggie Reese Campbell, both of whom preceded her in death.  She was also predeceased by siblings, Mollie Donaldson, Wendy Lucy and John “Bubba” Davis. Linda was a member of Victory Baptist Church, and retired from JP Stevens / Westpoint textiles company.

Linda loved her family and her dog, Missy Lynn.  She enjoyed gardening and her flowers; shopping, re-decorating, and cooking fried chicken for her family Sunday dinners.

Survivors include her husband, Billy Hobbs; son, Roy Hobbs; daughters, Donna “Speedy” Newsome (Kelvin), Mary Keeter (Charles), Delores Nowell (Mark); sisters, Teresa Long (Steve), Gloria Pearson; grandchildren, Jessica Mabry (Brandon), Dustin Newsome (Ashley), Heidi Hobbs (Jeremy), Ashley Keeter (Andrew), William Keeter (Jessica); 9 great-grandchildren.

Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 3:00 – 5:00 pm at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.

The funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Jeremy Kobernat at 11:00 am Monday at Victory Baptist Church, with interment to follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.
