Lillian Marie Warren

Lillian Marie Warren, 92, died Friday, July 21, 2023 in her home with family and friends by her side.

Marie was born in Pleasant Hill, NC on May 29, 1931, the daughter of Ferris Wilson Webb, Sr. and Bertha Aleisha Gordon Webb. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Wilbert Voyd “Sonny” Warren, whom she married on January 17, 1948.  She was also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Louise Massey Warren; brothers, Ernest L. Webb, Sr., Wilson Webb and grandchildren Ann Marie and Justin Cope Davis.

She is survived by her son Wilbert V (Chip) Warren and wife Raye of Garysburg; daughters, Cindy Warren Wilson of Roanoke Rapids and Sheila Warren Davis and husband Tim of Roanoke Rapids, NC. Eight grandchildren; Nikki Johnson Hopkins (John), Chris Johnson (Kim), Michelle Parker (Jeff), John Wilson (Kelly), Josh Davis (Leighann), Stephanie Smith (Brian), Jen Warren Ott (Timmy), Jessie Warren Langley (Alex) and 15 great- grandchildren and a host of friends, nieces and nephews.

Marie was a long time employee of  J.P. Stevens Mills (30) years retiring to travel and spend winters at Paradise Park in Florida where they made friends easily and enjoyed golfing, yard sales and spending time with friends.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude and love to caretakers Beverly Norman, Jessica Purnell, Vicki Hawkins and Mabel Magee who’s love and care for mom eased our fears and lifted our hearts .

A celebration of life for Marie will be held at 11:00AM Thursday, July 27, 2023, at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Martin and Rev. Andy Sloan officiating.  Burial will follow in Crestview Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 7:00PM – 9:00PM Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service.
