Lewis Thomas Ellis

Lewis Thomas Ellis, 77, formerly of Roanoke Rapids passed away Friday, April 5, 2019 at Hunter Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Rocky Mount.

Lewis was born November 15, 1941 in Northampton County to the late Joseph Lassiter and Mattie Irene Miles. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Ellis.

He is survived by his children, Mike Ellis and his wife Shirley of Franklin, VA, Angela Ricks of Nashville, NC and Wendy Ellis of Saxis Island, VA; his brother, Joe Ellis and his wife Cathy of Winston-Salem; his sister, Patricia Cook and her husband Billy of Newsoms, VA; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service to celebrate Lewis’s life will be held 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 10, 2019 in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service. The family will receive friends following the service.
