Letitia "Tish" Ward

Letitia “Tish” Downing Ward, 81, of Roanoke Rapids, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 in her home.  Mrs. Ward was born on May 12, 1943 in Halifax County, the daughter of the late Ella Jones and Roger Downing.   She was also preceded in death by her daughter Karen Pepper Hedgepeth, her sisters:  Juanita Baird, Ruth Carter, Betty Ann Downing, and Dorcas Travis, her brothers:  Lefty Downing and Roger “Junior” Downing.

Mrs. Ward enjoyed fishing, working in her garden and flower beds, putting puzzles together, playing games on the computer and was an avid cook.

Surviving include her husband William “Tick” Ward, her son William “Bill” Lynn Pepper (Lori), her sisters Janice Shotwell (Walter) and Joan Downing, her granddaughter Stephanie Heath (Brandon) and her great grandson Easton Heath.
