Karen Nicole Alston, 22, passed away Tuesday, July 06, 2021, at Vidant Health Center in Greenville, NC.

Karen was born in Nash County, NC, May 9, 1999, daughter to Anthony “Tony” Alston and Laura Johnson Alston. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, David and Bette Johnson and paternal grandmother, Doris Alston.

Surviving is her father, Anthony “Tony” Alston of Roanoke Rapids; mother, Laura Johnson Alston; son, Trenton Wade Johnston and father (also Karen’s long time companion), Dylan Wade Johnston, all of Halifax; brother, Caleb Alston and fiancé, Taylor, with their son, Zander Alston, of Roanoke Rapids; sisters, Grace Alston of Halifax, and Emily Gaylor and husband, Brandon, along with their children, Hannah and Madison Gaylor of Roanoke Rapids. Also surviving is her paternal grandfather, James M. Alston of Oklahoma.

The family will receive friends Wednesday night, July 14, 2021, from 6:00- 8:30 pm at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service. Rev. Sue Owens will conduct funeral services Thursday, July 15, 2021, at New Hope United Methodist Church at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery, Roanoke Rapids.
