J.W. "B.I." Colden Reese

J.W. “B.I” Colden Reese, 89, of Roanoke Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 in ECU Health North Hospital. Mr. Reese was born on June 10, 1936, the son of Magnolia Bryant and James Cornelius Reese. He was also preceded in death by his siblings: Herbert Reese, Owen Reese, Jeanette Clary, Mae Tripp, Ann Bedgood, and Rachel Harlow.

Surviving include his wife Margie Wallace Reese, his daughter Tammy Denise Reese, his nephew Richard Clayton, whom he treated as his own son, and many other nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

B.I. loved to garden, farm, and carpentry. He enjoyed taking trips to Pennsylvania to visit the Amish Country. He would bring back Amish buggies and restore them. He was co-owner, along with his sister Jeanette, of Weldon Fruit and Produce for many years. 

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Quankie Baptist Church with Dr. Lavelle Waters officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
