Julius Glenn Williams

Mr. J. Glenn Williams, passed away at his home in Roanoke Rapids early Saturday morning at the age of 88.

Mr. Williams a native of Roanoke Rapids was born September 18, 1926 to the late Eli Buren and Effie Nethercutt Williams. Glenn proudly served in the military during both World War II and the Korean War. After which he continued with the government in civil service combat systems for more than 25 plus years, retiring from Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Norfolk, Va. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers, J. Calvin and Paul L. Williams; and his son Steve Alan Williams. Glenn is survived by his wife of 17 years, Mrs. Margaret G. Williams; his daughters Glenda Williams of Littleton; and Rhonda Williams Stern of Halifax; his youngest brother David Eli Williams of TX. He is also survived by his grandsons Michael Hux and Jason Hux. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service with Rev. Bob Redmond officiating.
