Judith Ann Blackmon Walker

Judith Ann Blackmon Walker, 69 of East 14th Street, Roanoke Rapids passed away Sunday, June 19, 2016 at Signature Healthcare.

Judith was born October 25, 1946 in Johnston County to the late David J. Blackmon and Cassie Pollard Blackmon. She was also preceded in death by her husband: Billy Ray Walker, Sr.; her brother: Charles Blackmon.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Loved people and doing for others, very generous and selfless. Judith worked as a Beautician at Hazels, for Roanoke Enfield Apparel, RiteAid and Department Manager at Goodys. She also enjoyed playing Bingo and going to yard sales.

She is survived by her son: Billy Ray Walker, Jr.; her daughter: Tammy Overton and her husband Joseph; her grandchildren: John David Overton and Sara Beth Overton; her brother: Dennis Ray Blackmon and his wife Becky; her sister-in-law: Martha Blackmon Cole all of Roanoke Rapids; her aunts: Mildred Cox of South Hill, VA and Dorothy Johnson of Roanoke Rapids.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service with Rev. D.A. Leonard officiating.The family will receive friends from 6:30 8:30 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home and other times at the home of her daughter, Tammy Overton..
