Joyce Arnette Tanner

Joyce Arnette Tanner, 69, of Roanoke Rapids, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2024 in her home.  Mrs. Tanner was born in Halifax County on July 29, 1955, the daughter of the late Ina Mae Hux and Clarence Montgomery Overbay.  She was also preceded by her brother Clarence Montgomery Overbay, Jr.

Surviving include her husband Danny Thomas Tanner, her children:  Ronnie “R.D.” Dale Pfeil (Kelly) of Roanoke Rapids, Steven Wayne Tanner (Danielle) of Newport News, VA, and Kari Jeanete Tanner of Post Falls, Idaho; her grandchildren Kade Pfeil, Holland Pfeil, Thaddeus “T.J.” Tanner, Alexis Tanner, and Elizabeth “Libby” Frost (Talison).

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 16, 2024 at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service with Rev. Joseph Sandoval officiating.  Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday, August 15, 2024.  Friends may sign the online register by visiting www.hockadayfs.com.
