Joshua Daniel Stansbury

Joshua Daniel Stansbury, 25, of Roanoke Rapids passed away Monday, February 25, 2019 at his home.

Joshua was born September 4, 1993 in Halifax County. He was preceded in death by his cousin, Corey Johnson; his maternal grandparents, George and Ella Sledge; his paternal grandparents, David and Betty Johnson.

He is survived by his mother Brenda Sledge Lee and his step-fathers, Tony Johnson and Roger Lee; his sisters, Ashley Johnson and her fiancé Sterling Holcomb, Jr. and Tamara Lee and her boyfriend Toney Brock all of Roanoke Rapids; his brothers, Jason Sledge of Spruce Pine, NC and Steve Conner of Nashville, NC; his aunts and uncles, Mama Bear and Papa Bear of Virginia and Bobby Johnson of Roanoke Rapids; his great uncle and aunt, Starlon Ray and Miranda Higgins Barnette of Shelby, NC; his sister-in-law, Melissa Sledge of Knightdale, NC; his nieces and nephews, J. J. Sledge, Memphis Sledge, Amhyleigh Sledge, Caitlin Conner, McKenzie Conner and Zoe Conner; his cousins, Nichole Tanner and her fiancé Carl Miller, Brittany Odom, Tammy Fajna and Timmy Fajna; his close friends,  Corey Turner, Rell, Hope Clark and her children, Savy and Tori, Will Bierman, Chris Clements.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 5, 2019 in Cedarwood Cemetery with Rev. Wayne White officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:30 P.M. Tuesday at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service prior to the service.
