Joseph Fenton Kinnin, 80, died Thursday, June 14, 2012 in Duke Raleigh Hospital.

Joseph was born in Halifax County January 21, 1932, to the late Henry Kinnin and Pearl Hargrave Kinnin. He retired from the United States Air Force and later retired from Telecable as a cable installer. He was also a member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Roanoke Rapids. In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by three brothers; Lewis, Ray and Paul Kinnin and three sisters; Edith Vaughan, Virginia Rhodes, and Helen Dixon.

Surviving is his daughter, Connie Kay Brading of Riverside, CA; grandchildren, Cathy Burgess and husband, Mike, of Dublin, CA, and Lisa Brading and husband, Afshin, of Riverside, CA; great-grandchildren, Johnathan Burgess and Caitlyn Burgess. Also surviving is a special friend of 15 years, Kitty Lewis of Roanoke Rapids, very special niece, Cecilia Weeks and husband, Will, of Roanoke Rapids, and in-laws, Dallas Dixon and Nadine Kinnin.

The family will receive friends Sunday, June 17, 2012 from 2-3:30 pm at First Pentecostal Holiness Church where funeral services will follow beginning at 4:00 pm. Rev. D.A. Leonard will officiate. Interment will follow in Old Cedarwood Cemetery, Roanoke Rapids.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Josephs honor.
