Joseph Bernard Harris

Joseph Bernard Harris, 77, died Saturday, September 26, 2015, at Duke University Hospital.

Joseph was born in Halifax County, December 18, 1937, to the late Jesse B. Harris and Jewel Harris. In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his daughter, Janie Echerd.

Surviving is his wife, Glenda Jean Harris, of the home; two sons, Joseph Joey B. Harris, Jr. and wife Carol, of Midlothian, VA and Marty Dale Harris and wife, Samantha of Roanoke Rapids; three daughters, Trudy Campbell and husband, Vernon, of Rocky Mount, Debra ONeal and husband, Dennis and Theresa Taylor and husband, Joe, both of Roanoke Rapids; two brothers, Danny Harris and Carlton Harris, both of Roanoke Rapids; two sisters, Geraldine Tripp of Roanoke Rapids, and Vicky Harris of Ahoskie. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Rev. Frank Stansbury will conduct a memorial service to celebrate Josephs life, Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 2:00 pm at South Rosemary Baptist Church.
