John Raymond Peffer, Jr.

John Raymond Peffer, Jr., 71, died April 13, 2020 in his Roanoke Rapids home after a long illness.

John was born in Norfolk, VA on February 26, 1949, the son of John R. Peffer, Sr. and Lillie Kennedy Peffer.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Netz Peffer; and his sisters, RosaLee Sessoms, Eva Tomlinson and Jean Shelton.

He served in the US Army in Vietnam.  John enjoyed fishing, prior to becoming disabled.

Survivors include his sister, Edna Thompson of Roanoke Rapids; and several nieces and nephews.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
