John "JW" William Fitzhugh

John “JW” William Fitzhugh, 64 of Ahoskie, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Monday January 5, 2026. JW was born on October 16, 1961, in Halifax County. He was preceded in death by his father John L. Fitzhugh Jr.

He is survived by his wife Donna, mother Jane Fitzhugh, sons Jonathan Fitzhugh, Christopher Hunter Jones, Jeremy B. Jones, daughter Angel Gell (Alan), grandchildren Abbiegayle, Blake, Dylan, Brooke, Cole, Sean, Trinity, Sakari, Austin, Bradley, Landen, great grandchild Alaya and sister Raye F. Warren (Chip).

JW was a loving husband, father, son, grandfather and great grandfather, he loved the outdoors, Seattle Seahawks football, grilling, woodworking and he was known for his sarcastic sense of humor.

The family will receive friends and family on Saturday January 10, from 6:00pmpm to 8:00pm at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service.
