John J.C. Carter

John J.C. Carter, 92 of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at ECU North surrounded by family on Sunday April 26, 2026. He was born on February 21, 1934, in Colquitt County, Georgia. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Columbus and Marie Carter, daughters Judith Carter Aldridge, Donna Lorence, brothers Eugene Carter and Donald Carter.

He is survived by his wife Barbara J. Carter, daughters Marie Carter Warren, Susan Elizabeth Carter, Susan Padgett, grandchildren Stephen Carter Gaborik, Nicholas Carter Aldridge, Olivia Noami Lorence, Zachary Prentis Aldridge, Lauren Michele Ranspach, Julia Susanne Ranspach and great grandchildren Jasper Gaborick, Naya Gaborick, Georgia Aldridge and Naomi Denton.

Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He retired from the United States Air Force, after retirement he owned Carter’s Corner Automotive Repair. Jim loved his family with all his heart.

There will be a private memorial service will be held at a later time.
