John Joseph Benenati, 82, died Saturday, Oct. 19, 2010.
He was a Vietnam War and U.S. Air Force veteran. John was a 30-year retiree who enlisted in 1948 in Norwich, N.Y., as a private first class and retired in 1978 as a chief master sergeant working with the Pentagon and the Department of Defense as an intelligence officer. After his military career, he worked for the State of Virginia with the Department of Taxation and completed his working career as a real estate agent. He then retired with his wife in Littleton.
He was a cherished son of the late Guisseppi ''Joseph'' Benenati and the late Maria Testa; and dear brother to deceased siblings, Michael, Thomas, Anthony and Frank Benenati and Louise Loscavio, Anna Houpis, Catherine Kennedy and Teresa Benenati. He was also a beloved husband of 48 years to the late Ruth D. Warrington.
He was loving father of Deborah G. Benenati, retired State of Illinois police officer; a dear brother of Joseph J. Benenati and Mary Coe; and uncle of many nieces and nephews.
A private cremation will be held. Burial of cremated remains will be held at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
