Joann Johnson Gibson

Joann Johnson Gibson, 68, of Becker Manor died Sunday, March 10, 2013 at her home.

Mrs. Gibson was born February 16, 1945 in Halifax County to the late Herman Johnson and Florence Johnson Fisher. Mrs. Gibson was a member of Faith Tabernacle Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister, who always thought highly of her family. She loved plastic canvas work, fishing and John Wayne.

Mrs. Gibson is survived her sister, Lena Ricks of Littleton, her son: Cleve Gibson and Sheri Gibson of Roanoke Rapids; three daughters: Lois Aydlett and her fianc Joe Beasley, Linda Byrum and her husband Thellie and Susan Gibson and her fianc Albert Morris all of Roanoke Rapids; her former husband Jack Gibson, Sr. of Roanoke Rapids, and special friends Kathy Williams and Annie Whitaker of Roanoke Rapids; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three nephews.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Cedarwood Cemetery in Weldon with Billy Meinsen, Minister officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00 9:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service and other times at the home of her daughter Linda, 297 Keener Drive..
