Jimmy Carol Baugham, Sr., 68, of Roanoke Rapids passed away Thursday, October 29, 2026, at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.

Jimmy was born January 3, 1958, in Hertford County to the late Wayland Baugham and Mabel Clark Baugham. Jimmy was also preceded in death by his brother, Wayland Baugham, Jr; his sister, Paige Hall and his brother-in-law, James Hall.

Jimmy was a member of New Testament Christian Church where he also served as an Elder. Jimmy also retired from Odom Correctional Facility after 30 years. Jimy also loved fishing and gardening.

Jimmy is survived by his wife Joy Baugham; his children Mary “Emmy’ New (John “Bubba”), Whitley Baugham (Patience Gilley), Andrew Poole (Brittany), Jimmy “Jay” Baugham, Jr. (Ashley); his sister Peggy Lee (Tony); his grandchildren, Ian New, Karren Sutton, Mathew New, Liam Poole, Maddox Pinnacle, Jacob Poole, Noah Baugham, Natalie Baugham and James Baugham; special nephew, Wayne Baugham; special cousin, Bobby Clark.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 2, 2026, at New Testament Christian Church with Daniel West, Minister officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. at the church prior to the funeral. Burial will follow in the Casper Family Cemetery in Garysburg.
