Jesse Lee Hobbs, 80, died Monday, December 21, 2015, at his residence in Oxford, NC.

Mr. Hobbs was born in Greensville County, VA, April 5, 1935, to the late Otha Hobbs and Eunice Norwood Hobbs. He served his country for more than 20 years in the Army National Guard and also was a tree climber for Asplundh for more than 20 years. His children loved him and will miss him dearly. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hobbs was preceded in death by his two grandsons, Ollie Bowling and Timothy Timbo Hobbs.

Surviving are his children, Roberta Hobbs of Oxford, NC, Teresa Taylor of Littleton, NC, Richard Hobbs of Gasburg, VA and Todd Hobbs and wife, Donna, of Lawrenceville, VA. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Chris and wife, Angie, Tiffany, Jesse, and Josh.

The family will receive friends at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service Wednesday, December 23, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:30 pm. Pastor Bobby Griles will conduct a graveside service at Fountain Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Thursday, December 24, 2015 at 11:00 am.
