Jerry Carlton Hedgepeth

Jerry Carlton Hedgepeth, 73, of Roanoke Rapids passed away Monday, September 8, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family.  He was born in Halifax County on May 3, 1952, to the late Thearie Hedgepeth.  In addition to his mother, he preceded in death by his brother Dan Hedgepeth; his sisters Vivian Staley and Gail Hedgepeth.

Jerry worked and retired as an electrician and was a member of IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union Local 553.  He also served in the US Army.

Jerry is survived by his wife Cheryl of 25 years, his daughters Jeri Nicole “Niki” Hedgepeth (Nathan Justus), Kelly Massey (Brian), his sons Chad Hedgepeth (Alexis), Brook McCabe (Chantel), his grandchildren Ashlyn, Amber, Anson, Aspen, Vivian, Brooke, Brayden, Collin, Clayton, and Corban; his brother Ronald Hedgepeth; sister Frances Harral; and his beloved fur babies Rissa, Nessa, Buttermilk, and Heart Attack.

There will be a memorial service Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Calvary Baptist Church at 2:00PM with Randy Martin officiating.  A visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00-2:00PM.  Friends may sign the online register by visiting www.hockadayfs.com.
