Jeanette Reese Clary

Jeanette Reese Clary, 87 of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at River View on the Appomattox in Hopewell, Virginia on Saturday, October 25, 2025. Jeanette was born on July 14, 1938, in Halifax County, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Clary, parents James and Maggie Reese, brothers Herbert Reese, Owen Reese, and sisters Mae Tripp and Ann Bedgood.

She is survived by her sons Henry Lee Clary II (Tonda), Alan Reese Clary (Nichole), daughters Bonnie Sue Clary Salvatore (James), Amy Clary Roberson (Marcus), brother JW Reese (Margie), sister Rachel Harlow, grandchildren Justin Clary, Megan Clary, Amanda Fierst, Adam Clary, Stephen Daniels, Colton Clary, Stephanie Dunn, Samuel Biehl, Reese Clary, Lucas Clary and great grandchildren Joslynn, Cole, Stella, Paisley, Scarlett, Riley, Jaxson and Lainey.

Jeanette was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend; she was co-owner of Weldon Fruit & Produce, member of Quankie Baptist Church, a graduate of Weldon High School, loved vacationing at the beach and mountains, loved crocheting with the ladies from the church, playing Gin Rummy with her friends and meeting friends at Hardee’s for breakfast

There will be a visitation on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Hockaday Funeral & Cremations from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. The funeral service will be on Friday, October 31, 2025, at 11:00am at Quankie Baptist Church, Reverend Jerry Boyd will conduct the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
