Jean Elinor Farmer King, 77, of 302 Pinecrest Avenue, Roanoke Rapids, died Thursday, March 25, 2010, at her home.
Jean was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved Gospel music and spending time with her grandkids. She was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church which she loved very much. She was born July 17, 1932, in Bath, South Carolina, to the late James Marion Farmer and Irene Tinsley Farmer. She is survived by her husband of 50+ years, Ernest L. Goody King; her children: Sandy Wall and husband, Lin, James Jimmy King, and Ernest Lee King, Jr. and wife, Stacy; grandchildren: Brooks Wall, Stacey King, Laryn King, Brittany Turner, Stephanie Turner, Dylan Turner,Ernest Lee Trey King, III; sisters: Carolyn Ashby and husband, Robert, Ann Harris and husband, Alonza, and Bobbie Bailey and husband, James; sisters-in-law: Lucille Allen and Earlene Allen and husband, Joe; brother-in-law, Otis Dicey King and wife, Billie, and her many special nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 28, 2010, at Calvary Baptist Church, at 3 P.M. with Rev. Randy Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 27, 2010, from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service, and other times at the home. Flowers are welcome or in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund of Calvary Baptist Church, 1405 Bolling Road, Roanoke Rapids, N. C. 27870.
