Janice Hawkins Pittard

Janice Hawkins Pittard, 89 of Roanoke Rapids, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2025 in ECU North Hospital.  Ms. Pittard was born on May 30, 1936, the daughter of Maidie Keeter and Edward Deward Hawkins, Sr. and was the widow of the late Vernon Pittard.

Surviving include her sons, Mike Pittard and wife Jean, of Roanoke Rapids and Randy Pittard and wife, Debbie, of Zebulon, NC, along with her grandchildren, Gregory Pittard and Eric Pittard, and his fiancé Ashlee Sherwood.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 3, 2025 in Hawkins Chapel Methodist Church with Pastor Nancy Palmer officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service.  Friends may sign the online register by visiting www.hockadayfs.com .
