James Dooley Taylor

James Dooley Taylor, 87, of Roanoke Rapids passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022.

Dooley was born November 22, 1934, in Halifax County to the late Bud Taylor, Sr. and Hattie Mae Harris Taylor Saunders.  He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, L.W. Saunders; his sisters, Mary Frances Taylor and Effie Mae Etheridge; his brother, Edward Lee Taylor, Sr.

Dooley attended Little Country Baptist Church where he loved to play his guitar and harmonica. He also loved riding his bicycle and moped.

Dooley is survived by his brothers, Bud Taylor, Jr. and his wife Diane and Curtis Taylor and his wife Brenda; his sister, Shirley T. Floyd all of Roanoke Rapids and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 19, 2022, in Old Cedarwood Cemetery with Rev. Tony Smith officiating.
