James Lee Darlington

James “Jimmy” Lee Darlington, 75 of Roanoke Rapids passed away on March 29, 2025 at ECU Health in Greenville.

He was born May 3, 1949, to the late Edward W. Darlington Sr and Julia Bailey Darlington in Charles City Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a loving aunt Lelia Darlington.

Jimmy proudly served in the United Sates Air Force for four years, serving in Vietnam. He was a member of Good News Baptist Church in Roanoke Rapids. He was a member of Fire Tower Hunt Club, and before retiring he worked for International Paper with over 30 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years Alice Lancaster Darlington of the home. His brothers Edward Jr. (Charlotte) and Donnie (Lisa) are all from Virginia. His sisters-in-law Shirley Powell and Robbin Lancaster as well as host nieces and nephews. A special niece, Ellen Mullen that is like a daughter and helped with care giving. His hunting/fishing buddy nephew Robert Lancaster of Atlanta Georgia.

A memorial service will be held later.
