James Howard "Jamie" Merritt

Wilmington-

James Howard Jamie Merritt, 40, died unexpectedly in Wilmington on Saturday, August 18, 2012.

He was reared in Roanoke Rapids and attended Roanoke Rapids High School. He was employed by Michaels Pressure Washing, Inc. of Wilmington, NC.

He was the only child of Howard and JoAnn Merritt who survive. Jamie is also survived by two daughters: Ashley and Allison, and one granddaughter, Chloee Thomas, all of Roanoke Rapids.

Funeral services will held at Tabor United Methodist Church in the Aurelian Springs area on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 11:00 am with Rev. Sidney Collins officiating.

The family will receive friends and relatives at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service from 7-8:30 pm on Wednesday, August 22, 2012. At all other times, the family will be at the home at 712 E. 12th Street, Roanoke Rapids.
