She was preceded in death by her parents: Edgar L. Wheeler and Virginia Pearce; husband: Lewis M. Collins and a sister: Deloris King.

She is survived by her sons: Robin M. Collins and family, Danny Ray Collins and family and Lewis Craig Collins and children; brothers: Clifton Lee Wheeler, E.L. Wheeler, Philmore Wheeler; sisters: Valeria Gray, Carolyn Hanks, Ann Vaughan, Phyllis Wheeler and Cheryl Norwood; and five grandchildren.

As per Mrs. Collins wishes, no memorial services are planned.
