Ida Mae Allen Bowers

Ida Allen Bowers, 95, passed away on February 16, 2012 at Carmel Hills Care Center in Charlotte.

Ida was born April 9, 1916 in Roanoke Rapids to Daniel P. Allen and Mary Ann Maurice Allen. She married Fred W. Bowers, Sr. in 1934 and lived in Littleton until 1965 when they moved to Roanoke Rapids.

Ida worked in the admissions department at Halifax Memorial Hospital until her retirement. Ida always loved antiques and collectibles. She spent many hours during her retired years attending auctions and yard sales.

Ida is survived by her children, Mary Ann Clark of Raleigh, Fred W. Bowers, Jr. and his wife Carrie of Charlotte, Maurice C. Bowers and his wife Sheri of Petaluma, Ca. and seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, her husband Fred, and son-in-law Roy B. Clark, Jr.

Visitation will be at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service, Monday, February 20th from 7:00 to 8:30pm. Services will be at All Saints Episcopal Church, Tuesday February 21st at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.
