Hubert "Matt" Matthew Hux

Hubert Matthew “Matt” Hux 62, formerly of Roanoke Rapids passed away Monday September 14, 2020 at the Caswell Center in Kinston.

Matt was born November 4, 1957 in Halifax County to the late Grady Lassiter Hux and Margaret Hawkins Hux.

Matt was a member of Caswell Church. He also won a Gold and Bronze medal in the 1995 World Special Olympics in Bocci.

Matt is survived by his brother, Grady “Phil” W. Hux and his wife Jean; his sister, Melinda Hux both of Roanoke Rapids; his nieces and nephews, Heather Etheridge and her husband Jason, Matt Hux and his wife Nicole, Jacob Hux and his wife Jamie and Grady Chad Cooke; his family at Caswell Center numerous great nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Cedarwood Cemetery with Rev. Steve McElroy officiating. At other times, friends may visit with the family at the home of Matt's brother, Phil Hux.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Caswell Center Athletic Department, 2415 W. Vernon Avenue, Kinston, NC 28504.
