Hoyt Edward Giles, Jr. 74, of Littleton died March 4, 2019 at Liberty Commons.

Hoyt was born May 8, 1944 in Gwinnett County, GA, the son of Hoyt E., Sr. and Alice Brunelle Hall Giles.

He was retired from sales in the logging equipment industry, and was of the Methodist faith.  Hoyt had been a resident of the Littleton area since 1992.

Survivors include his wife, Donna D. Giles; daughter, Lori Hernandez  and husband Ivan, of Chapel Hill; son, Hoyt Giles, III and wife Leasa, of Aurora, IN;  daughter, Catherine Carmell and husband Chris, of Currituck; sisters,  Dianne Graves of Fayetteville,  Deborah Ewing and husband Gary French, of Boulder, CO; brother-in-law, Milton Moore and wife Deborah, of Scotland Neck;  grandson, Brandon Giles of Emporia, VA; granddaughter, Morgan Giles of Roanoke Rapids; great-grandchildren, Landon Giles, Stella Giles and Blaine Fox; nephews, Jess Moore and wife Boyce, Alex Moore and wife Lindsey, all of Scotland Neck, Alan Blanchard, Bobby Blanchard, Mark Blanchard; great-nephews, Oliver Moore and Brady Moore; great-nieces, Madelyn Moore and Isabel Moore.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, March 9, 2019 in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service,  with Pastor Roy Moore presiding.  Friends may visit with the family following the service.
